Refund Policy

Effective Date: 7/7/2025

At ForWard Counseling, we are committed to providing high-quality mental health services in a respectful and transparent manner. This refund policy outlines the conditions under which refunds may be issued for services rendered.

Payment & Booking

  • Payment is due at the time of booking or immediately following each session, unless otherwise agreed upon.

  • We accept all major insurance providers (BCBS PPO, Aetna, UHC, Cigna, Medicare), Self-pay, and sliding scale.

Refund Eligibility

  • Refunds may be considered under the following circumstances:

  • Duplicate Charges: If a client is accidentally charged more than once for the same session.

  • Practice-Initiated Cancellation: If the therapist cancels a session and the client has prepaid. Typically, sessions are only billed after the session has taken place.

  • Technical Issues (for virtual sessions): If a session cannot be completed due to verified technical difficulties and rescheduling is not possible.

  • Refunds are not issued for:

    • No-shows or late cancellations (see cancellation policy)

    • Completed sessions, even if the client is dissatisfied with the outcome

Cancellation & Rescheduling

Clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Late cancellations or missed appointments may be subject to the full session fee and are not eligible for refunds.

Exceptions

We understand that emergencies happen. Exceptions to this policy may be made at the discretion of the therapist or practice owner, based on individual circumstances.
